    This CD sounds more like funky 70s disco than pop-sounding stuff he later produced. Nevertheless, it's an amazing album, that was produced, arranged, composed and performed by Prince as well. It's a must-have for anyone that enjoys the Purple One's sound/5().

    Omg! This cd is as amazing as I remember! I lost most of my album collection thx to my always enterprising brother. Ugh! There's always one in the fam.     On his debut album, For You, Prince shows exceptional skill for arranging and performing mainstream urban R&B and funk, but his songwriting remains conventional. Only on the mildly racy "Soft and Wet" does he demonstrate a personal touch, but the song is still more of a promise than a fulfillment.     For You is the debut studio album by American recording artist Prince. It was released by Warner Bros. Records on April 7, All tracks were produced, arranged, composed, and performed by Prince. Prince started recording in September at Sound 80 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he had previously made a demo.
